3 Day Family Intervention Induction – Supporting Families with Complex Needs
Train to Equip offer a 3 Day Induction Package which is suitable for any key worker that comes into contact with families. The induction has been designed to incorporate all the key principles and methodology in order for new key workers to feel confident to begin work with families.
This course would also be suitable for practitioners from other services and agencies, which would support integrated working alongside services that provide family intervention.
Each learner will be given a Learner Book which will be a reference source for training materials, including handouts, tools and practice and presentations to record any details or key points throughout the training.
Day 1
Family Intervention Workforce Development
Learning outcomes
The learner will:
- Understand the role of the Key worker in family intervention.
- Know how to work with partner agencies in a family intervention context.
- Understand the principles and values that underpin work with parents.
- Understand practical boundaries when working with families.

Day 2
Know how to manage risk, Whole Family Assessment and Coordinating a multi-agency Team
Learning outcomes
The learner will:
- Know how to manage risk.
- Understand Whole Family Assessment
- Understand how to coordinate a multi-agency team around a family.

Day 3
Positive behaviour change within families
Learning outcomes
The learner will:
- Know how to support families to increase positive behaviours.
- Understand how recommendations can inform a support plan.
- Understand self-esteem and motivation.
